Singer-songwriter Jordan Rowe is opening up about the divine inspiration that guided his musical journey towards creating what he terms as “kingdom country” music.
In a recent appearance on “The Matthew West Podcast,” Rowe reflected on his beginnings in church, singing hymns like “Jesus Loves Me” and playing drums as part of his musical foundation. After years of performing with a band and pursuing education, Rowe made the pivotal decision to pursue a music career in Nashville. Despite securing a publishing deal and touring with established artists, the onset of COVID-19 abruptly halted his momentum.
“Everything came to a sudden stop, and I felt God convicting me,” Rowe shared. “He made me realize I needed to dig deeper into my true purpose and what He had in store for me.” This period of reflection led Rowe to establish Music Row Ministries, a Bible study group where he keenly felt God’s presence and direction.
Undeterred by setbacks in the music industry, Rowe felt drawn towards what he now terms as “kingdom country” music—a genre focused on blending traditional country sounds with lyrics that reflect his faith. Seeking divine guidance, Rowe embarked on a prayer fast to discern his path forward. Shortly after completing the fast, he experienced both disappointment and affirmation: dropped by his booking agent yet finding success as a songwriter with placements on other artists’ albums.
Reflecting on his journey, Rowe emphasized his belief in God’s penchant for working through improbable circumstances to demonstrate His power and grace. “God puts us in situations that seem impossible so that when we succeed, we know it’s because of Him,” Rowe remarked.
Now fully committed to his “kingdom country” music vision, Rowe recently released his single “Heroes,” which he describes as a tribute to the ultimate hero, Jesus Christ. Alongside his musical endeavors, Rowe celebrated a personal milestone with his engagement to Tori, whom he praised for her steadfast support and faith.
As Rowe continues to navigate his musical and spiritual journey, he remains dedicated to creating music that resonates with listeners and inspires faith-based reflections.
