Today, Marty Stuart’s Congress of Country Music commemorated a significant milestone: the 60th anniversary of Connie Smith’s timeless hit, “Once a Day.” The event not only honored the iconic song but also celebrated Smith’s remarkable journey in country music.

A notable highlight of the gathering was the collaboration with The Boys and Girls Club, where children were invited to dress up and indulge in a day filled with activities aimed at inspiring them to pursue their dreams.

“We wanted these girls to experience a day like Cinderella and encourage all children to start dreaming, just as Connie did at five years old,” explained Shawn Byars, Event Coordinator.

“These children have dreams too, and today, we’re here to discuss, draw, dance, read, and sing about them. We deeply appreciate Connie and Marty for their inspiration in helping us strive for our best.”

Smith’s chart-topping single, “Once a Day,” topped the country music charts in 1964, solidifying its place in music history.
