Up-and-coming country duo Ryan and Rory recently visited the MusicRow office to unveil their self-titled debut EP, slated for release on July 26.
The duo consists of Ryan Follesé, a Nashville native renowned for his double-Platinum success as the former frontman of pop-rock band Hot Chelle Rae, and Rory John Zak, a versatile multi-instrumentalist who became The Carolina Opry’s youngest full-time cast member at just 17.
Their collaboration began serendipitously after a chance meeting at a concert in Raleigh, North Carolina, where Follesé was performing alongside country duo Locash. Seven years later, they reunited through a mutual family friend who recognized their shared desire to create new music.
“It felt like fate. Ryan and I complement each other perfectly,” Follesé remarked. “From our first session together, it felt like we had been playing music together for years.”
Zak added, “We share many interests and hobbies, which will be great on the road. We’ll be playing a lot of golf!”
Already making waves, Ryan and Rory have been named among SiriusXM The Highway’s “Highway Finds,” joining the likes of Luke Combs and Gabby Barrett. Despite having minimal social media presence and only a few songs under their belt, they secured a record deal with BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville, marking a significant milestone in their budding career.
Their debut EP promises to showcase their dynamic musical chemistry and innovative approach to country music, setting the stage for what’s sure to be an exciting journey ahead.
