Country duo Maddie & Tae are embracing their newfound sense of freedom and self-assurance with their latest single, “Free Like.” The upbeat track, co-written by Maddie Font, serves as an empowering anthem that nods to Jo Dee Messina’s classic hit “Bye Bye.”

With lyrics like “Free like a hippie, free like a fire / Free like a bird on a telephone wire,” the song captures a spirited and liberating vibe. The chorus continues, “Free like a Chevy on a don’t look back road / ‘Bye Bye My Baby’ on the radio / Head spinnin’ in the dust I leave / Boy, you ain’t ever seen free like me.”

Maddie & Tae describe “Free Like” as a reflection of their personal growth and confidence. “After 15 years of friendship and stepping into motherhood, we feel deeply secure in who we are and what we do,” the duo explains. They hope the song will resonate with their fans, who have followed their journey over the past decade, offering them a sense of empowerment similar to what they felt while creating the track.

Released following their May single “Sad Girl Summer,” “Free Like” is now available. Fans can also look forward to Maddie & Tae’s upcoming fall tour, “Here’s To Friends.” Tickets are available at maddieandtae.com.
