Faster Horses Festival Thrills Tens of Thousands at Michigan International Speedway

by Barbara

Michigan’s premier country music event, the Faster Horses Festival, continued to captivate audiences on its second day Saturday, drawing tens of thousands to the Michigan International Speedway. Now in its 11th year, the festival is renowned for its eclectic mix of music and vibrant atmosphere, where attendees are more likely to don Mardi Gras beads and Old Glory ballcaps than traditional cowboy attire.

As the afternoon progressed, festival-goers claimed their spots on the vast field in front of the main stage with beach blankets and lawn chairs. This followed a lively night of celebrations both on-site and at nearby campgrounds. The main stage featured a notable set from the veteran country-pop group Sawyer Brown, offering a nostalgic contrast to the festival’s predominantly contemporary lineup. Saturday’s performances also included Lainey Wilson, known for her hit “Watermelon Moonshine,” who was set to headline the evening after Jelly Roll’s Friday night performance, joined by Cody Johnson and Tyler Hubbard.
