Adam Lambert and Auli’i Cravalho to Make Broadway Debuts in “Cabaret”

Producers Ambassador Theatre Group Productions, Underbelly, Gavin Kalin Productions, Hunter Arnold, Smith & Brant Theatricals, and Wessex Grove have announced Grammy Award nominee Adam Lambert and rising star Auli’i Cravalho will headline the Tony Award-winning musical “Cabaret” at the Kit Kat Club in the August Wilson Theatre (245 West 52nd Street) this fall.

Directed by Olivier Award winner Rebecca Frecknall and designed by 2024 Tony Award winner Tom Scutt, Lambert will portray ‘Emcee’ and Cravalho will take on the role of ‘Sally Bowles’. Their performances are set to commence on Monday, September 16 and will run through Sunday, March 30, 2025, for a limited engagement.

Eddie Redmayne and Gayle Rankin, who received acclaim and Tony Award nominations for their roles as ‘Emcee’ and ‘Sally Bowles’, will play their final performances on Saturday evening, September 14.

Casting for the roles beyond March 30 will be announced in the upcoming year.

Adam Lambert, known for his North American tour in “Wicked” and his breakthrough in the eighth season of “American Idol”, has since become a platinum-selling singer/songwriter. His credits include the five-time Academy Award-winning film “Bohemian Rhapsody” and the Sofia Coppola-produced feature “Fairyland”. Lambert also fronts the legendary rock band Queen and recently released his solo EP “AFTERS”.

Auli’i Cravalho gained recognition as the voice of Disney’s “Moana” and performed the anthem “How Far I’ll Go” at the 2017 Academy Awards with Lin-Manuel Miranda. Her career includes roles in Amazon’s “The Power”, Hulu’s “Crush”, NBC’s “Rise”, and Netflix’s “All Together Now”. Last spring, she starred as ‘Janis’ in the film adaptation of “Mean Girls: The Musical”. Cravalho will reprise her role as ‘Moana’ in the highly anticipated sequel.

During their run in “Cabaret”, Lambert and Cravalho will typically perform seven shows per week. For the most current performance schedule, please visit kitkat.club.

Adam Lambert’s scheduled absences include matinees on October 23, November 6, 24 and 27, December 4 and 18, January 15 and 29, February 12 and 19, March 5 and 19, and evenings on October 14 and 28, November 12, December 10 and 23, January 7 and 21, February 4 and 24, March 10 and 24.

Auli’i Cravalho will not perform during the week of November 19 – 24. Her scheduled absences also include matinees on October 30, November 13 and 29, December 11 and 24, January 8 and 22, February 5, 20, and 26, March 12 and 26, and evenings on September 30, October 1, November 4, December 3 and 17, January 14 and 28, February 11, and March 3 and 17.

The cast of “Cabaret” also features Bebe Neuwirth as ‘Fraulein Schneider’, Ato Blankson-Wood as ‘Clifford Bradshaw’, Steven Skybell as ‘Herr Schultz’, Henry Gottfried as ‘Ernst Ludwig’, and Natascia Diaz as ‘Fritzie/Kost’, adding to the allure of this anticipated Broadway production.
