County prepares to host the inaugural Rock the Country Music Festival. This highly anticipated event will take place at the Anderson Sports & Entertainment Center on Friday and Saturday.

For the first time, the Rock the Country Music Festival will grace Anderson, marking it as the final stop in the festival’s tour. Headliners including Kid Rock, Jason Aldean, and Miranda Lambert are set to perform for a crowd expected to exceed 25,000 attendees.

According to Adrienne Cole, general manager of the Anderson Civic Center, the festivities will commence at 4 p.m. each day. The schedule includes a DJ to entertain early arrivals, followed by performances from various artists leading up to the headliners around 9 p.m.

The excitement is palpable among festival-goers, with many already settling into their RV campers at the Civic Center. Melissa Powell, a local resident, expressed her enthusiasm: “I’m super excited. I think this is a great thing for our community. I’m so glad that Anderson was chosen for this event. It’s thrilling for all of us to come together, have fun, and rock the country.”

Powell also hopes the festival will foster community spirit: “I hope this event brings everyone together, allowing us to enjoy ourselves and bond as a community.”

The festival will implement stringent security measures, including bag checks and a no-outside-drinks policy. However, attendees can purchase food and beverages inside the event grounds.

“This festival is a significant economic boost for Anderson County,” Cole stated. “It drives business to our local restaurants and shops. We anticipate an economic impact of $19.2 million from this event, with the potential for even greater returns.”

Local roads, including Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Camson Road, and Whitehall Road, will be closed starting Friday to accommodate the event.

Powell urged attendees to enjoy the festival responsibly: “I hope everyone has a great time, stays safe, and follows the guidelines. Security is doing a fantastic job ensuring everyone’s safety.”

Tickets for general admission and VIP experiences are still available.
