Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors are excited to unveil their latest single, “Burn,” featuring Ellie Holcomb, available today. The track, a Southern-infused anthem, will be a highlight on their upcoming LP, Strangers No More Volume Two, set for release on September 12.
The song explores timeless themes of heartache and yearning, drawing parallels from classical literature to modern heartbreak songs. Holcomb describes “Burn” as a reflection on the desire to experience intense emotions despite the risks, akin to “getting too close to the fire” in hopes of a different outcome than previous generations.
“Burn (feat. Ellie Holcomb)” follows the band’s live cover of Adele’s “When We Were Young,” a staple of their setlist this past year. Since June, Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors have been steadily releasing new music, including May’s introspective “Soul’s A Camera,” March’s energetic “Suffering,” and December’s poignant “Way Back When.” All these tracks, including “Burn,” were recorded during the sessions for Strangers No More and will feature on the forthcoming LP.
Over the past year, Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors have been touring in support of their ninth studio album, Strangers No More, which includes the band’s first #1 Americana single, “Find Your People.” The track saw a significant boost in popularity this spring, driven by Instagram Reels and TikTok, where it peaked at #2 on TikTok’s chart and reached #49 on the Billboard TikTok chart. The album’s success contributed to the band surpassing 500 million global streams in May.
The band, consisting of Drew Holcomb, Nathan Dugger (guitar), Rich Brinsfield (bass), Will Sayles (drums), and Ian Miller (keys), has been busy since the album’s release. Their recent activities include a return to Bonnaroo, supporting Darius Rucker, headline performances, and a UK solo tour by Holcomb. February saw Holcomb on the road with his wife, Ellie Holcomb. Additionally, the band made notable television appearances, including CBS Saturday Morning, Live with Kelly & Mark, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and Jimmy Kimmel Live! scheduled for February 2024.
