Kacey Musgraves is set to enrich her latest album, Deeper Well, with an expanded edition titled Deeper Into the Well, due for release on August 2. Announcing the news on Instagram, Musgraves revealed that the updated version will feature seven new tracks.
As a preview, Musgraves will release “Irish Goodbye” on July 26. The song, which has been a part of her live performances, explores themes of unresolved closure and difficulty in forgiving a former lover who departed abruptly. Notable lyrics include, “I’ll forgive your faults if you’ll forgive mine / But it’s hard to forgive your Irish goodbye.”
The original Deeper Well, released in March, includes standout tracks such as the title song, “Too Good to Be True,” and “The Architect.” Musgraves showcased these hits during her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The album, produced by Musgraves alongside Daniel Tashian and Ian Fitchuk, was recorded at Electric Lady Studios in New York.
