Rising country star Anne Wilson has offered a preview of her latest song, which urges fans to stand up for their beliefs rather than remain silent for the sake of convenience.
“You can stand. Stand your ground, say I won’t back down. Even when the whole world’s against me, I’m standing strong ‘cause I know who’s with me,” the chorus proclaims. “Pray in the face of fear. Let them know you’re here. Yeah, we all got a choice in life, you can run, you can hide, you can fall for the lies. Or stand.”
Wilson shared her inspiration for the song in a caption accompanying the sneak peek: “I was raised to stand up for what I believe in. My God, my country, and what is right and true. Now more than ever I feel a stirring in my heart to have the courage to not be quiet or worried about following the crowd. I’ve been working on a song about standing up for what I believe in.”
Wilson’s commitment to integrating her beliefs into her music has propelled her rise in country music. She emphasizes the importance of authenticity in her journey, as she told Matthew West in May: “In my own journey, I need to be authentically who I am, which is someone who loves Jesus, but I love country music. But I’m not compromising.”
Her second album, “Rebel,” showcases this mentality, blending her country sound with her Christian faith. Discussing her music video for “Songs About Whiskey,” she explained, “For every song we wrote, and every idea creatively, how can we make this video something so different that no other Christian artist would really do? And for me, it was doing it in a bar. What does it mean to take the Gospel into the world and preach Jesus to a crowd of people who don’t really know Him? Which literally makes it so much more special to me.”
As Anne Wilson continues to make her mark on the country music scene, her music resonates with millions, encouraging them to stand firm in their beliefs and refuse to compromise.
