Houston is set to experience a unique blend of country music and circus artistry as Cirque du Soleil’s new show, Songblazers, comes to town. The highly anticipated production, a collaboration between the entertainment giant and Universal Music Group Nashville, will grace the Smart Financial Centre from August 1 to August 11. This engagement marks Cirque du Soleil’s 24th visit to the Houston area.

Songblazers, which premiered in Nashville in July, is a country-themed spectacle that promises to captivate audiences with its innovative approach. A highlight of the show is an original song titled “Carnival Heart,” created by Sam Williams, grandson of country legend Hank Williams. The track is described as a blend of raw honesty and poetic vulnerability, reflecting the emotional highs and lows of the circus experience.

Williams shared his inspiration for the song, noting that the concept of a carnival evokes deep, nostalgic feelings. “The carnival in a small town is filled with joy, excitement, and mystery,” he said. “I think the roller coaster of emotions aligns with the beautiful production of Cirque du Soleil.”
