Sandy Garossino, mother of musician Grimes (Claire Boucher), has publicly appealed to Elon Musk, CEO of X, regarding visitation rights for her grandchildren amidst a family crisis. In a heartfelt plea posted on Musk’s platform, Garossino expressed her anguish over being unable to reunite her 93-year-old mother with Grimes’ three children, citing Musk’s alleged withholding of their passports.
“Dear Elon @elonmusk It was nice seeing you on Father’s Day. I hope you got the card that I helped X make. He was so proud of it,” began Garossino, a columnist for Canada’s National Observer, addressing Musk directly in her message.
She explained the dire situation: “My 93 year old mother is now at end-of-life palliative care. She yearns to see and hold Claire’s children one last time. Especially the youngest, whom she has not yet met.”
Garossino revealed her disappointment when a planned visit by the children to their great-grandmother in Canada was abruptly cancelled. “I am alarmed to learn that the children cannot come as you are withholding them and their needed passport documents from Claire,” she wrote, questioning Musk’s recent public appearances without the children.
In a poignant conclusion, Garossino appealed to Musk’s sense of family and responsibility: “Some moments in life last forever, and we get no second chances. Family is priceless.”
Elon Musk, 53, and Grimes, 36, share three children together: X Æ A-Xii, four, Exa Dark Sideræl, two, and Techno “Tau” Mechanicus, 10 months. The situation has drawn attention amidst Musk’s broader family commitments, including his nine other children from previous relationships.
The public plea underscores a private family struggle and the emotional toll of separation during a critical time, urging Musk to reconsider and facilitate the children’s visitation with their great-grandmother before it’s too late.
