Fake real estate listings for Britney Spears’ Thousand Oaks, California mansion have surfaced online following a breach of a central property database. The listings, which featured images and details of the singer’s home, were published on multiple real estate websites, including Realtor.com and Zillow, and were listed at $9 million (£7 million).
The ads were linked to a hacking incident involving the Multiple Listing Service (MLS), which distributes property information to various real estate platforms. Once Britney Spears’ representatives were alerted to the fraudulent listings, they contacted the implicated real estate agents and discovered that all the ads had originated from the hacked MLS database. Consequently, the listings were promptly removed.
Spears, 42, purchased the Italianate property in 2015 for $7.4 million (£5.8 million). The estate spans over 20 acres and includes a 13,264-square-foot residence with luxurious amenities such as a large wine cellar, tennis court, infinity pool, and spa area.
The mansion also served as the venue for Britney Spears’ wedding to Sam Asghari in June 2022, which was attended by celebrities including Drew Barrymore, Madonna, and Selena Gomez. The couple’s marriage ended in May this year, with their divorce finalized earlier this month.
