Katy Perry is gearing up for an extensive UK tour as part of her promotional campaign for her forthcoming album, 143, set to be released on September 20. Although specific tour details are yet to be announced, Perry has hinted at performances in cities across the UK, including Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, and Glasgow.
In an interview with Jordan North on Capital FM, Perry confirmed her plans to visit these cities, stating, “I’m gonna go to all those spots too.” When asked about the upcoming tour, she playfully affirmed, “Yeah right.” She also expressed her gratitude for her UK fanbase, saying, “My UK fans are incredible.”
The 39-year-old singer, who shares a three-year-old daughter, Daisy, with fiancé Orlando Bloom, will release the second single from 143 next week. Titled “Lifetimes,” the song draws inspiration from her interactions with her daughter. Perry shared with The Sun’s Bizarre column, “It is funny how sometimes you’re looking for your soulmate in a partner. It could be a dog, your mum, your best friend, your cat?… but for me, it came in the form of Daisy. I wrote ‘Lifetimes’ about her. Every night, before we go to sleep, I say, ‘I love you’, and then I ask, ‘Will you find me in every lifetime?’ and she says, ‘Yes’.”
Perry has also addressed the reception of her latest single, “Woman’s World,” and its provocative music video. Despite facing backlash, she remains unapologetic and confident about her expression of sexuality. In an interview with a French TV station reported by the Daily Star, she stated, “I’m owning my sexuality. I am standing in it, and I feel really responsible. I don’t feel ashamed. I’m like, t*** out, and happy about it. My t*** give me life. I brought a child into this world, and she is alive because of them t******, so let’s celebrate them!”
Reflecting on her personal evolution, Perry noted that motherhood has significantly influenced her artistry. “My life has changed a lot. I have a daughter who is almost four. Becoming a mother made me feel like… I became even more of a woman,” she explained.
Perry promises that 143 will resonate with fans of her earlier work. “It’s dance-pop with so much energy—bright and sexy. It’s divided into three parts. One is more like ‘Dark Horse.’ Another blends ‘Walking on Air,’ ‘Never Really Over,’ and ‘Teenage Dream.’ And the other part is quintessentially me, like ‘Hot N Cold’ and ‘California Gurls,’” she revealed.
143 will be Perry’s first album since Smile, which achieved a number five ranking on the UK Albums Chart in 2020.
