UK songwriter Lila Tristram returns with a captivating new single, “Baby”, a track that marks a notable shift in her musical direction. Known for her atmospheric folk sound, Tristram’s latest release showcases her ability to convey raw emotion through the driving force of indie rock. The song features Heledd Owen (Prima Queen, Adwaith) on drums and Tim Gardner (RY X) on synth, and was co-produced by Gus White (Madeline Ashman, Edward Cross) and mastered by Tim Debney (Sufjan Stevens, Thom Yorke).
In a statement, Tristram shared her intention behind the track: “All my songs are so sad. I wanted to write a song which would get people dancing.” This desire to blend poignant songwriting with an uplifting indie anthem signals a fresh direction for the artist, who has traditionally been known for her bucolic folk releases.
