Fall in New York promises excitement as Adam Driver gears up to star in Kenneth Lonergan’s latest Off-Broadway production, Hold On to Me Darling. The critically acclaimed actor, known for his role in Girls, will play the lead role of country music icon Strings McCrane in this highly anticipated revival.
The 13-week engagement, directed by Neil Pepe, will commence with preview performances on September 24, leading to its official opening night on October 16 at the historic Lucille Lortel Theatre. The production will run through December 22.

In Hold On to Me Darling, Driver will portray Strings McCrane, a country music superstar who faces a profound existential crisis following his mother’s death. Struggling with the burdens of fame, McCrane decides to abandon his celebrity status for a simpler life back in his Tennessee hometown. However, he soon discovers that simplicity is elusive in this tragicomedy, as the repercussions of his fame and success prove overwhelming.

Driver’s previous Off-Broadway credits include Slipping, The Retributionists, Little Doc, The Forest, Angels in America, and Look Back in Anger. His Broadway experience includes performances in Mrs. Warren’s Profession, Man and Boy, and Burn This.
