WE Fest returns for its 41st year at the Soo Pass Ranch near Detroit Lakes, bringing with it one of the largest country music and camping festivals in the nation. The event, which typically attracts over 100,000 attendees, is known for its lively atmosphere and extensive musical lineup.
To manage the influx of festival-goers, the Minnesota State Patrol will implement increased traffic patrols in the surrounding areas. This strategy, which includes enhanced collaboration with festival organizers, has led to a reduction in accidents and DWIs at the festival over the years.
Capt. Brian Cheney of the Minnesota State Patrol noted, “I think it’s people making better choices. It might be using the shuttle buses, having somebody to pick them up, a sober ride, or just not leaving this area if they’re consuming.”
This year’s festival will feature performances by headliners Eric Church, Parker McCollum, and Jelly Roll.
