Cardi B has revealed that she is expecting her third child, just hours after reports surfaced about her filing for divorce from her husband, Offset. The 31-year-old rapper and her 32-year-old husband, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, have been married since 2017. They are already parents to five-year-old daughter Kulture and two-year-old son Wave.
On Thursday, news broke that Cardi B and Offset had filed for divorce. However, Cardi B took to Instagram to announce her pregnancy in a heartfelt post. Sharing a photograph of herself with her baby bump visible, the “I Like It” singer wrote, “With every ending comes a new beginning!”
She continued, “I am so grateful to have shared this season with you; you have brought me more love, more life, and most of all, renewed my power! Reminded me that I can have it all! You’ve reminded me that I never have to choose between life, love, and my passion!”
Cardi B expressed her excitement about the new chapter in her life, saying, “I love you so much and cannot wait for you to witness what you helped me accomplish, what you pushed me to do!”
She added, “It’s so much easier taking life’s twists, turns, and tests lying down, but you, your brother, and your sister have shown me why it’s worth it to push through!”
Cardi B and Offset’s relationship has seen its share of ups and downs. The couple began dating in 2016, married in 2017, and welcomed their first child, Kulture, in 2018. They briefly separated in December 2018 but reconciled by February 2019. Cardi B filed for divorce in September 2020, but they reunited shortly after. Their second child, Wave, was born in September 2021. The couple is reported to have separated again in 2023.
