Country singer Megan Moroney has candidly discussed her past with Morgan Wallen on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast. Moroney, promoting her newly released album Am I Okay?, addressed speculation about her connection with the country music star.
During the interview, Moroney confirmed that she and Wallen had a brief romantic involvement, though not an exclusive relationship. “Did you date Morgan Wallen?” Cooper asked. Moroney responded, “Never exclusively. It was never a relationship.”
Moroney explained that she and Wallen first met in 2020, prior to the release of Wallen’s chart-topping Dangerous album, while she was still in university. “We have been friends for a long time; we were not just friends, and now we are friends,” she elaborated.
Wallen has achieved significant success in recent years, with his 2023 hit “Last Night” topping the US charts and his collaboration with Post Malone on “I Had Some Help” becoming the longest-running Billboard number-one song of 2024.
Moroney chose not to reveal whether her song “Tennessee Orange,” which references Tennessee, is inspired by Wallen. “I will not say who my songs are about ever,” she stated firmly.
