Bright Eyes Drops New Single “Rainbow Overpass” from Upcoming Album

Bright Eyes has unveiled their latest single, “Rainbow Overpass,” from their forthcoming album Five Dice, All Threes, set for release on September 20 via Dead Oceans. The energetic track features acoustic guitar, vibrant horns, and dynamic gang vocals, including a verse from Alex Orange Drink of The So So Glos, reminiscent of a high-speed drive off a rainbow overpass.

Bright Eyes’ frontman Conor Oberst commented on the track, “Alex and I wrote a lot of the songs together, but ‘Rainbow Overpass’ is the only one where he gets to sing a verse. He’s like my hype man, adding a bit of Beastie Boys flair! They grew up on punk rock and the Beasties, so there are various vocal bursts throughout. I wanted to capture that live energy in the studio, rather than waiting to create it on tour.”

“Rainbow Overpass” follows the release of “Bells & Whistles,” which debuted in June and received critical acclaim, quickly securing spots on global radio playlists.

In addition to their European and U.S. tour dates announced in July, Bright Eyes has revealed an extensive North American tour for 2025. The tour will kick off on the West Coast, traverse the South and East Coast, and wrap up in the Midwest. Artist presale begins on Wednesday, August 7, at 10 AM local time, with general tickets going on sale Friday, August 9, at 10 AM local time.
