Taylor Swift is set to dominate the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards with a record-breaking 10 nominations. The 34-year-old superstar, currently on her extensive Eras World Tour, is vying for top honors including Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Collaboration, and Best Pop.
In addition to these major categories, Swift’s nominations extend to technical achievements with nods for Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Visual Effects, Best Art Direction, and Best Director for her self-directed music video for “Fortnight,” featuring Post Malone.
Post Malone, who collaborated with Swift on “Fortnight,” follows closely with nine nominations, including Best Collaboration. Other notable nominees include Sabrina Carpenter, Eminem, and Ariana Grande, each with six nominations, while SZA and Megan Thee Stallion each received five.
Fans are eagerly anticipating that Swift might use the awards show to announce the release date of her highly anticipated Reputation (Taylor’s Version) album, which has been teased since August of the previous year. Swift’s presence at the event is highly anticipated as she will be on a two-month break from her tour during that period.
In 2022, Swift used the MTV VMAs as a platform to announce her Midnights album, fueling speculation that she may reveal her re-release album at this year’s event.
The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards are scheduled to take place at UBS Arena in New York on Tuesday, September 10.
