The Voices of America Country Music Festival is set to begin Thursday in West Chester Township, with thousands of attendees expected to flock to the event. As preparations ramp up, local residents are also gearing up to make the most of the four-day festival.
Nathalie Delgado, a local resident whose home is directly across from the festival grounds, shared her excitement with FOX19 NOW. “It’s really thrilling. It’s fun to see such a large event in our small town,” Delgado said.
Last year, the festival drew over 60,000 attendees to Voices of America MetroPark, and Delgado, who had front-row seats, observed an opportunity for additional revenue. She and her neighbors decided to convert their yards and driveways into temporary parking spaces for the festival’s duration.
“We noticed families and local churches were offering parking, so we thought it would be a great way to raise some funds,” Delgado explained. She is renting out her yard and driveway for $20 per night and has enhanced their setup with improved signage, water bottle sales, and potentially a cookout.
Trinity Church nearby is offering similar parking arrangements, and many local residents are joining in. However, Delgado advises checking for permission if considering similar arrangements. “Our community is growing with new malls and hospitals, and more people are coming in,” she added.
