The 2024 Sugar Bowl Country Kickoff concert, featuring country stars Eric Church, Jon Pardi, Ashley McBryde, and Thomas Rhett, has been unexpectedly canceled. The event was scheduled for August 31 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, marking the start of the college football season during Labor Day weekend.
Tickets for the concert, which was set to be the second annual kickoff event following last year’s show with Garth Brooks, Lainey Wilson, and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, went on sale in April.
The abrupt cancellation was announced without prior notice. Ticketmaster’s website posted a brief statement: “Unfortunately, the Event Organizer has had to cancel your event.” Ticket holders will receive a refund to their original payment method within 14-21 days.
The reasons for the cancellation remain unclear, and there is no current information on whether the concert will be rescheduled or replaced with a different event.
