The Voices of America Country Music Fest kicked off its second year on Thursday, August 8, drawing an impressive crowd that stretched from the entrance gate to the parking lot at West Chester Township’s Voice of America MetroPark. Anticipation is high for this year’s event, which features headliners Keith Urban, Jason Aldean, and Sam Hunt.
Don Moeller, a local resident who attended last year’s festival, noted the event’s growing popularity. “I think people just heard about how great the event is, and they’re showing up this year,” Moeller said. “I wouldn’t be surprised to see the crowd double from last year.”
The festival’s popularity is also evident in the excitement of first-time attendees like Jacob Spangernberg and Abriella Beyerlein, who secured four-day passes as soon as they became available. The couple is eager to immerse themselves in the full experience, including themed days, starting with camo attire on Thursday.
“We’ve been talking about it for days,” Beyerlein said. Spangernberg added, “Saturday sounds pretty cool because we’ve seen Jason Aldean already, but Keith Urban’s on Saturday. It’s a longer day, and it’s got more people that we haven’t seen before.”
Once inside, festival-goers found themselves in a sprawling venue with two stages, over 15 food vendors, and ample space for both lawn chairs and standing areas. Attendees can bring their own chairs or rent one from a vendor, who expects to rent all 2,800 chairs available each day.
With a lineup that has drawn an enthusiastic crowd and promises of a weekend filled with top-tier country music, the Voices of America Country Music Fest is on track to be an even bigger success than last year.
