Adele has voiced her doubts about the authenticity of Australian Olympic breakdancer Raygun, questioning whether her recent performance was a joke. Raygun, whose real name is Rachael Gunn, faced widespread ridicule following her appearance at the 2024 Paris Games on Friday. The performance, which drew surprise from sports fans, ended with the breakdancer receiving a score of zero from the judges.
During a concert in Munich, Adele took a moment to address the viral dance performance. “Did anyone see the breakdancing lady?” she asked, expressing her astonishment that breakdancing is now an Olympic sport. “It’s absolutely fantastic, though I’m not sure if it was meant to be a joke. Either way, it’s made me and my friends laugh for nearly 24 hours.”
Adele urged her audience to view the performance, adding, “If you haven’t seen it, please look it up—it’s hilarious. It’s the funniest thing to happen at the Olympics this time around.”
In response to the backlash, Raygun defended her performance, explaining, “I knew I wouldn’t compete with the top athletes in terms of dynamic moves, so I chose to be artistic and creative. As an underdog, I wanted to make a unique impact on this international stage.”
