Morgan Wallen’s Felony Trial Postponed Amid Chair-Throwing Charges

by Barbara

Country music star Morgan Wallen is facing up to six years in prison on three felony charges stemming from an incident earlier this year in which he allegedly threw a chair off a bar roof.

Originally scheduled for August 15, Wallen’s court hearing has been postponed to December 12 after a judge granted a continuance, Billboard reports.

The charges relate to an April 7 incident at Eric Church’s new honky tonk on Nashville’s Broadway. Wallen, 30, was arrested after allegedly hurling a chair from the sixth floor of the venue. The chair reportedly landed just three feet from two Metro Nashville police officers stationed outside the bar.

According to News Channel 5, bar staff reported that Wallen threw the chair while laughing and that video footage captured the incident. The footage also reportedly shows Wallen lunging and tossing the object from the rooftop.

Wallen faces charges of disorderly conduct and three counts of reckless endangerment. He has posted a $15,250 bond. Given the gravity of the charges and the close proximity of the chair’s landing to the officers, each felony count could potentially result in one to two years of imprisonment, according to People.
