Blake Shelton and Riley Green are set to celebrate the enduring legacy of Alabama in Thursday’s special, CMT GIANTS: ALABAMA. The performance will spotlight Shelton’s rendition of “Old Flame” and Green’s interpretation of “Dixieland Delight,” two beloved tracks that have long resonated with both artists.

Blake Shelton, known for his deep connection to traditional country, expressed his enthusiasm for performing “Old Flame,” a song he describes as one of Alabama’s finest. “I’ve always felt that ‘Old Flame’ is one of the best Alabama songs. I love the melody and harmonies,” Shelton remarked in a recent interview. He also revealed his excitement upon learning that the song was available for his performance, leading him to invite Steve Wariner to join him in recreating the iconic harmonies.

Riley Green, a native of Jacksonville, Alabama, considers “Dixieland Delight” a staple of his live shows. “I’ve been performing ‘Dixieland Delight’ at nearly every show for over a decade. It’s an anthem in Alabama, and it’s always been a part of my performances in college towns across the state,” Green noted. He admitted that performing the song for the group that made it famous will be both exciting and nerve-wracking.

The tribute will also feature performances from other country stars including Jason Aldean, Sam Hunt, Old Dominion, Little Big Town, Jamey Johnson, Pam Tillis, and Lorrie Morgan. Alabama will also take the stage to deliver a performance of their classic hit, “Mountain Music.”
