Unsigned singers and bands will soon have a shot at the spotlight as they vie for the chance to perform as an opening act at the GoldenSky Country Music Festival, the largest country music event in the Sacramento region.
GoldenSky, organized by the same team behind the Aftershock Music Festival, is set to return to Discovery Park for its third year, running from October 18-20. This year marks the festival’s first extension to a three-day event.
Each year, GoldenSky has drawn thousands of country music fans and has featured performances from notable stars like Eric Church, Lainey Wilson, Keith Urban, Thomas Rhett, and Luke Bryan. While the lineup for 2024 has already been announced, there’s still an opportunity for local talent to take the stage.
Festival organizers have narrowed down the competition to three finalists, who will each perform a 30-45 minute set at the Goldfield Trading Post in Roseville on Saturday. The performance will determine who will earn the coveted spot as the festival’s opening act. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the event is free to the public.
The winner of the competition will be announced during the finals, giving one lucky act a chance to shine at this year’s GoldenSky Festival.
