Wolfgang Van Halen has taken to social media to dismiss a peculiar conspiracy theory claiming he died as a child. The theory, circulated in a Generation X group online, erroneously confused Van Halen with the late son of Eric Clapton, who tragically died in 1991 after a fall from a New York City apartment building.
The conspiracy post asserted, “I know for a fact that Wolfgang Van Halen died as a toddler. But now they are showing him as grown and alive. He was Valerie Bertinelli and Van Halen’s son who fell from a balcony and died many years ago.”
Wolfgang Van Halen responded to the post on Instagram with humor, asking, “Chat, am I alive?” He later added, “Guys, we know they’re confusing me for Clapton’s kid. Stop trying to correct everyone and just make fun of this stupid person with me.”
