The Arcada Theatre in St. Charles, IL, will honor the late Jack Russell with a special tribute concert on Friday, August 23rd. Russell, the iconic frontman of Jack Russell’s Great White, passed away last week at the age of 63.
Originally scheduled to perform with headliner Vixen, Jack Russell’s Great White had to cancel due to Russell’s illness. The band will now perform under the new name, Once Bitten, featuring former Great White lead vocalist Terry Ilous.
Ron Onesti, President and CEO of Arcada Theatre, expressed that Russell would have wanted the show to proceed. “This tribute is a fitting way to honor Jack’s musical legacy,” Onesti said. The concert will also mark the release of Russell’s autobiography, The True Tale of Mista Bone: A Rock + Roll Narrative. Author and official Jack Russell family spokesperson K.L. Doty will attend to discuss the book and share stories about Russell.
Onesti added, “This is another sad day in Rock and Roll. What better way to honor Jack’s life than with a salute by his own bandmates?” Vixen will conclude the evening with a performance of their greatest hits, contributing to what is expected to be an emotional event for fans and fellow musicians alike.
