Luke Grimes Reflects on ‘Yellowstone’ Departure, Stetson Role, and Country Music Debut

Luke Grimes is stepping away from his iconic role as Kayce Dutton on HBO’s “Yellowstone” with the show’s fifth and final season premiering this November. Despite retiring the Stetson hats associated with his character, Grimes remains linked to the Western brand. He was appointed Stetson’s brand ambassador last year, continuing a tradition that includes notable figures like Matthew McConaughey. The partnership recently saw the relaunch of Stetson Legend, the brand’s original scent.

Grimes’ deep Western roots have influenced his career beyond acting. Following his tenure on “Yellowstone,” where his role closely mirrored his own persona, Grimes has ventured into country music. In March, he released his debut self-titled album from his Nashville home, where he has been warmly welcomed by the country music community.
