Jelly Roll experienced an unexpected encounter with the U.S. Coast Guard following his headlining performance at the Bash on the Bay festival in Put-in-Bay, Ohio. The Grammy-nominated artist shared the news with fans via Instagram, revealing that his departure from the concert was interrupted by a Coast Guard stop.

In an Instagram story, Jelly Roll described the situation: “So, we were leaving Bash on the Bay and we got pulled over by the Coast Guard!” He added, “It was crazy. We had the county sheriff with us, but it turned out to be OK. We’re back on our way. Thank you everybody who was concerned.”

Ottawa County Sheriff officials confirmed that the Coast Guard stop was a routine safety check, with no citations issued and everyone allowed to continue on their way.

Earlier in the evening, Jelly Roll had posted on Instagram about the unique experience of arriving at the festival by boat, expressing his excitement: “This is so cool.”

The artist, who recently won the Country Music Award for New Artist of the Year, has had a standout year in the music industry.
