The YQM Country Fest, now in its third year, has kicked off in Dieppe, New Brunswick, bringing significant economic benefits to the local area. The festival, which began Thursday, is set to draw over 20,000 attendees daily across its three-day run.
Headliners for this year’s event include Bailey Zimmerman, Jason Aldean, and Luke Combs. Last year’s festival attracted more than 60,000 country music enthusiasts, demonstrating its growing popularity.
According to Denis LeBlanc, Director of Community Development for Dieppe, an economic study revealed the festival’s substantial impact. “The direct economic boost for the southeast region is $14 million, which is quite significant,” LeBlanc stated. “We were pleasantly surprised by last year’s high numbers, and this event continues to impress.”
Hotel accommodations in Greater Moncton and surrounding areas are in high demand. “Securing nearby accommodations has been challenging,” LeBlanc noted. “Many hotels are fully booked, and even spots in Sussex are scarce, highlighting the festival’s regional success.”
Ghislaine Vautour, General Manager of Wingate by Wyndham Dieppe, emphasized the positive effect on local business. “The festival fills all our rooms for the entire event. As the summer tourism season winds down, it’s a fantastic way to end the season,” Vautour said.
