Mexico City’s Hera HSBC music festival made a powerful statement on Saturday by featuring an all-female lineup of both Latina and international stars, including Kesha, Demi Lovato, and Camila Cabello. The festival, named after the Greek goddess Hera, symbolizing women, family, and the sky, came at a pivotal moment in Mexico’s history as the country prepares to inaugurate its first female president, Claudia Sheinbaum.
The event, held at the capital’s race track—known for hosting major festivals like Corona Capital and EDC Mexico—drew over 48,000 attendees. Hera not only showcased women on stage but also emphasized female leadership behind the scenes, with women working as producers, engineers, and more.
Festival promoter Itzel González and co-creator Ximena Sariñana, a renowned Mexican singer-songwriter, envisioned Hera as a platform to highlight the contributions of women in every aspect of the music industry. Their efforts culminated in a festival that celebrated the talent and hard work of women, both in the spotlight and behind the scenes.
