Big Sean Surprises Fans with Kanye West Beat on New Track “Fighting Fires”

As Big Sean gears up for the release of his new album Better Me Than You on August 30, a recent SoundCloud-exclusive track has intrigued fans, particularly given his complex history with Kanye West. The new song, “Fighting Fires,” features a beat from Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign’s track “MY SOUL” from the VULTURES 2 project.

Despite the often strained relationship between Big Sean and Kanye West, “Fighting Fires” sees Sean rapping over the instrumental originally used by Ye and Ty Dolla $ign. The track delivers a boastful and lyrically dense performance from Sean, in contrast to the original’s themes of freedom, religion, and mass incarceration.

The song’s release on SoundCloud, along with another track titled “Dirty Work” that has since been removed, raises questions about whether these tracks are part of the upcoming album or simply standalone singles. While Sean had hinted in July that “Fighting Fires” might feature a collaboration with Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign for their next VULTURES project, it appears those plans did not materialize
