Danielle Moore, the lead vocalist of the British electronic group Crazy P, has passed away at the age of 52. The band confirmed the sad news through an Instagram statement.
“We are devastated to announce the unbelievable and shocking news that our beautiful Danielle Moore has died in sudden and tragic circumstances,” the statement read. Details surrounding Moore’s death have not been disclosed, but the band paid tribute to her vibrant life, characterized by her passion for love, compassion, community, and music.
“We cannot believe the news ourselves and we know it will be the same for all of you. She gave us so much and we love her so much,” the statement continued. “Our hearts are broken. We need time to process that this has happened. Danielle lived the biggest of lives. We will miss her with all our hearts.”
Moore joined Crazy P in 2002, alongside founding members Chris Todd and Jim Baron, as well as bassist Tim Davies and percussionist Mav Kendricks. The band has since released seven studio albums, with their most recent, Age of the Ego, coming out in 2019.
On Age of the Ego, Moore was responsible for writing politically charged lyrics that critiqued celebrity worship, political figures, and advocated for grassroots community action and taxing billionaires.
