Country music superstar Carrie Underwood, known for her powerhouse vocals and multi-Grammy-winning career, is set to headline the Cattle Baron’s Ball on September 28. The event will feature Underwood’s signature “Denim & Rhinestones” style, promising an unforgettable performance on the main stage.
Underwood first rose to fame with her debut single “Inside Your Heaven,” which topped the Billboard Hot 100 after her victorious run on the fourth season of American Idol. Recently, she made waves by announcing her return to the show 20 years later, this time as a judge. Since her Idol days, Underwood has amassed an impressive collection of accolades, including eight Grammy Awards, 25 CMT Music Awards, and 17 American Music Awards. Rolling Stone has hailed her as “the female vocalist of her generation in any genre.” Her catalog of hits spans country, gospel, and pop, with fan favorites like “I Told You So,” “Cowboy Casanova,” “Jesus, Take the Wheel,” “Before He Cheats,” “So Small,” and “Church Bells.”
“We’re excited to welcome her to Dallas,” said Marjon Henderson, co-chair of this year’s ball alongside Lora Farris. “She’s got a song for everyone and an incredible stage presence. There’s no doubt about that.”
Beyond her music career, Underwood has made her mark as a fitness entrepreneur, a New York Times bestselling author, an advocate for animal welfare, and a vocal opponent of bullying. She has also been committed to giving back to her hometown of Checotah, Oklahoma.
Before Underwood takes the stage at 10:30 p.m., local band Straight Tequila Night will perform on the VIP/Live Auction Stage. This ’90s Country Tribute Band, formed in 2012, has been recognized as one of the best in Texas, with features in Vogue, D Magazine, and The Dallas Observer.
“Everyone has a different opinion or taste in music,” Henderson noted, “But I’ll tell you what everybody loves: all ’90s country.”
The Cattle Baron’s Ball has a long history of supporting the North Texas community, having raised over $98 million in its 50-year history, with the majority of the funds benefiting local initiatives.
