During a recent stop in Salt Lake City for his “Beautifully Broken” tour, country music star Jelly Roll made a heartwarming gesture that left a group of young lemonade stand operators in awe.
Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason DeFord, shared the moment on his YouTube channel on August 27, 2024, in a video titled “Best lemonade ever y’all!!” The video, which has since garnered over 6 million views, captures the singer ordering three lemonades and two orange juices from the kids.
When asked how much he owed, the total came to just $2.50. However, Jelly Roll didn’t stop at paying the small amount.
“We were so thirsty that we want to come bless y’all today,” he said, handing nearly $700 to one of the astonished children. “We don’t need no change. You keep that tip, okay, baby. You go buy you something really nice, alright, because you worked hard.”
Wendy Gardunio, the mother of one of the children, took to Facebook to express her gratitude and surprise. “So today was an interesting day,” she wrote. “My kid and her cousins wanted to do a lemonade stand. And they had a famous singer come and buy some lemonade. Who would have thought that we would run into Jelly Roll in West Valley. And for him to be so generous with giving them almost $700.”
At the end of the video, Jelly Roll wished the kids a great day and encouraged them to save some of the money, adding a final touch to an already unforgettable encounter.
