Halsey is set to release her fifth studio album, The Great Impersonator, on October 25. The album comes during a period of personal difficulty for the singer-songwriter, who uses both she/her and they/them pronouns.

On Wednesday, Halsey unveiled the album cover on X, showcasing a close-up of her face adorned with a star motif. In her post, she shared her anticipation for the album’s release, stating, “I made this record in the space between life and death. And it feels like I’ve waited an eternity for you to have it. I’ll wait a bit longer. I’ve waited a decade, already.”

The album is now available for pre-order. Halsey, whose real name is Ashley Frangipane, has already released three singles from The Great Impersonator: “Lucky,” “The End,” and “Lonely Is the Muse.”

In June, when she released “The End,” Halsey disclosed her struggles with health issues, including Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) and T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder. She revealed on Instagram that both conditions are currently being managed or are in remission. “Both of which I will likely have for the duration of my life,” she noted. “After a rocky start, I slowly got everything under control with the help of amazing doctors. After 2 years, I’m feeling better and I’m more grateful than ever to have music to turn to.”

At 29, Halsey reflects on her journey with resilience and optimism as she prepares to share her new work with her fans.
