Many residents of mid-Michigan are still grappling with unresolved refund issues from the Bay City Music Festival held over the summer.
TV5 has fielded numerous inquiries from viewers about the ongoing refund situation, and now, one of the performers is also being approached by frustrated festival-goers.
Country music artist Waylon Hanel, who was slated to perform as the opening act for the Saturday night segment of the festival in June, has reported receiving a flood of refund requests via social media. Hanel took to Facebook to clarify that he is not involved in ticket sales or refund processing.
“I’m not the person to be reaching out to about this kind of stuff,” Hanel stated in a video addressing the confusion.
The festival’s performances were abruptly canceled due to severe thunderstorms. Hanel explained that his role was limited to performing, signing autographs, and taking pictures with fans. However, since the cancellation, he has been inundated with direct messages and comments from individuals seeking refunds, as they encounter difficulties contacting the event’s organizer and promoter, Ken Shelton.
