Shaboozey’s hit single “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” has achieved a historic milestone, dominating Billboard’s Country Airplay chart for a seventh consecutive week. The track garnered 28.2 million audience impressions during the period of August 30 to September 5, according to Luminate, though this figure represents a 2% decrease from the previous week.

The Virginian artist, born Collins Obinna Chibueze, has now surpassed Carrie Underwood’s “Jesus, Take the Wheel,” which held the top spot for six weeks in 2006, as the longest-running No. 1 debut in the history of Country Airplay. This achievement marks “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” as the most enduring lead single by a new country artist in the chart’s history.

Since the inception of Country Airplay in January 1990, “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” is only the 11th song to maintain a top position for seven weeks or more. The record for the longest duration at No. 1 is currently shared by Nate Smith’s “World on Fire” and Morgan Wallen’s “You Proof,” both of which held the top spot for 10 weeks.

Additionally, “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” has led the Hot Country Songs chart for 12 weeks and the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 for eight weeks, setting new records for 2024 and cementing its place as a dominant force in the country music landscape.
