Kane Brown, the acclaimed multi-platinum singer-songwriter, will receive the prestigious Country Champion Award at the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards. The accolade recognizes Brown’s exceptional contributions to the country music industry and his dedication to service.
The awards ceremony, hosted by Shania Twain, will air live from the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville on Thursday, September 26, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC and Peacock. The evening will commence with the “Live From E!: People’s Choice Country Awards” red carpet event at 6 p.m. ET/PT on E!.
Jen Neal, Executive Vice President of Live Events and Specials at NBCUniversal Entertainment, praised Brown’s impact: “Since the beginning of his career, Kane Brown has ensured that his legacy will extend beyond music. His dedication to empowering and supporting younger generations is nothing short of inspiring, and we’re thrilled to honor him with the Country Champion Award.”
Currently on his “In The Air” stadium tour, Brown recently released “Miles On It,” a collaboration with Marshmello, following his 11th #1 single on country radio. Known for breaking barriers, Brown’s debut album, Kane Brown (2016), made history by leading all five of Billboard’s main country charts simultaneously. He also scored significant successes with his singles “Heaven” and “What Ifs,” and his album Experiment (2018) became the first country sophomore album in over two decades to top the Billboard Top 200.
Brown’s achievements extend beyond music, as he was named to the TIME100 list in 2021 and has headlined sold-out international tours, including becoming the first Black artist to sell out Boston’s Fenway Park. He has garnered multiple accolades, including ACM and CMA nominations, and received the Boys & Girls Club’s Champion of Youth Award in 2022 for his commitment to youth.
Brown will share the spotlight with Miranda Lambert, who will be honored with the Country Icon Award at the ceremony. Additional performers and presenters will be announced in the coming weeks.
