The Canadian Country Music Awards (CCMAs) are making a long-awaited return to Edmonton, marking the first time in 10 years the city has hosted the event.
The week-long celebration culminates in a two-hour awards show at Rogers Place on Sept. 14. Alongside the main event, more than 80 free concerts will take place across Edmonton, showcasing country artists and bands from all over Canada.
Though Edmonton may not be the most stereotypical Prairie city, its deep-rooted love for country music is undeniable. This week on This is Edmonton, producer Tristan Mottershead joins host Clare Bonnyman to explore the CCMAs and Canada’s vibrant country music scene.
