Renowned bluegrass artist and mandolin virtuoso Sierra Hull will open the 2024-25 season at Bucknell University’s Weis Center for the Performing Arts on Friday at 7:30 p.m. Hull, a two-time Grammy nominee, is celebrated for her distinct bluegrass sound and mastery of the mandolin.
Hull made history in 2016 by becoming the first woman to win the International Bluegrass Music Association’s Mandolin Player of the Year award, a title she has claimed six times. With five albums to her name, including the critically acclaimed Weighted Mind (2016) and 25 Trips (2020), Hull has captivated audiences across the U.S., performing at iconic venues like Carnegie Hall and the Grand Ole Opry.
Throughout her career, Hull has collaborated with legendary musicians such as Alison Krauss, Garth Brooks, Dolly Parton, Béla Fleck, and Brandi Carlile, further cementing her place as one of bluegrass music’s brightest talents.
