Country music icon Mark Chesnutt has made a triumphant return to the stage, just months after undergoing life-saving quadruple bypass surgery. In a recent Instagram video, Chesnutt shared a personal message with fans, accompanied by clips from his recent performances.
“We apologize for the website being a mess since we got hacked,” Chesnutt said in the video. “But here are a few clips to ease your mind and answer your questions about whether the rest of this year’s shows are happening… I’m back.”
Chesnutt, who celebrated his 61st birthday earlier this month, underwent surgery in June after a significant medical scare. This health crisis followed the cancellation of two shows last November due to a medical evaluation, as reported on his X (formerly Twitter) account.
The legendary artist, who rose to fame in the early 1990s, boasts a rich catalog of hit songs, including 20 top-10 hits on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts. Eight of those tracks—“Brother Jukebox,” “It Sure Is Monday,” “I’ll Think of Something,” “I Just Wanted You to Know,” “Gonna Get a Life,” “Almost Goodbye,” “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing,” and “It’s a Little Too Late”—reached number one.
