The BET Hip Hop Awards are heading to Las Vegas for the first time this October. The network announced that the awards ceremony will take place on October 8, with the show airing live at 8 p.m. EDT.
This year’s event marks a departure from the awards’ traditional venues in Atlanta and Miami. BET President & CEO Scott Mills highlighted Las Vegas’ vibrant atmosphere, noting the city’s historic role in entertainment and its alignment with the dynamic and innovative spirit of Black culture.
Connie Orlando, BET’s EVP of Specials, Music Programming & Music Strategy, expressed enthusiasm for the new location, following a year of celebrating hip hop’s 50th anniversary. “We are excited to honor the genre while delivering fresh experiences and unforgettable performances,” Orlando said. “Las Vegas promises to add an extra layer of excitement to an already epic night of hip hop.”
