Country and rock artist Kasey Tyndall has launched her new single, “Not As I’ve Done,” marking the first release from her upcoming self-titled album, set to drop in early 2025 via MNRK Music. Released in conjunction with National Daughters Week, the track offers a touching ode to her 16-month-old daughter, Sterling.
The new single is a poignant and reflective piece that blends Tyndall’s signature sound with personal insights. It serves as a guide for her daughter, touching on life lessons and personal experiences. “Not As I’ve Done” explores themes of caution and wisdom, advising Sterling on love, life decisions, and self-expression. The chorus poignantly captures the essence of the song: “Someday soon you’re gonna wanna see how far you can bend that line. Heaven help you, I’m the one that you’ll get your wild side from. The shell don’t fall far from the gun. So do as I say, not as I’ve done.”
Tyndall explains, “I wrote this single as a map for my daughter as she grows up. My goal was to convey the emotions and experiences of a mother, hoping to guide my child away from the mistakes I’ve made. I’m excited for fans to get a glimpse into this new chapter of my life and music.”
“Not As I’ve Done” provides a glimpse into the forthcoming album, which will feature a deeper exploration of Tyndall’s identity as a mother and wife. The album promises to reflect her growth and resilience, showcasing various facets of her personal and artistic journey.
