Elle King is set to release her latest single, “High Road,” this Friday. The track is a tribute to her musical roots and reflects her deep appreciation for classic country music.
King describes “High Road” as a homage to the genre that has always inspired her. “When I come out on the stage of life, I want to be my truest and utmost self,” she says. “I want to release music that makes me happy, that I love to sing, and that acknowledges my influences, like Willie Nelson and the Highwaymen.”
King, known for hits like “Drunk (and I Don’t Wanna Go Home)” and “Ex’s & Oh’s,” notes that she wrote the song last year and finds it interesting how the lyrics have resonated throughout this year.
Currently, King is on her Baby Daddy’s Weekend Tour, continuing to connect with fans across the country.
