Country music enthusiasts are heading to Mitchell this Friday for the highly anticipated Tailgate Music Festival at Keterson Park. The event promises a blend of local talent and a major headlining performance from country star Steven Lee Olsen.
Local musician Janna Leduc, who is set to perform, highlighted the festival’s unique appeal, saying fans will enjoy “the small-town vibe” paired with a top-tier performer. “It feels really dynamic, and you kind of get the best of both worlds,” Leduc added.
Alongside Leduc, other performers include Adam Cousins, Bradley Hale, Max Smith, and Amelia Jordan. Doors open at 5 p.m., with non-stop music running until midnight. Leduc emphasized the seamless experience for attendees, noting, “It’s going to be a jam-packed evening of just live music, with very little changeover between bands—it’s going to be fantastic.”
The festival serves as a fundraiser for West Perth Village, a local long-term care facility, adding a charitable cause to the musical festivities.
Leduc, who has recently been recording in Nashville, is set to perform seven original tracks during the festival. “I’ve got twelve songs recorded, just in the final stages of mixing and mastering,” she shared, hinting at new releases in the coming months.
While tickets were nearly sold out, a limited number may still be available online for those looking to join in the celebration of live country music in Mitchell.
