Kip Moore has unveiled his latest single, “Live Here to Work,” available now through Virgin Music Group. The track, co-produced with Jaren Johnston of The Cadillac Three, delivers a guitar-driven sound that resonates with themes of rebellion and the struggle for work-life balance. The powerful lyrics reflect a mindset of prioritizing personal time: “My time is short and it ain’t yours / Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind getting my hands in a little dirt / But I don’t live here to work.”
Accompanying the release is a music video that captures the essence of the song.
In discussing the inspiration behind the track, Moore noted the tendency for people to become overwhelmed by daily routines. “Everyone’s had that feeling where they’ve hit that limit, and you’re just like, ‘fuck that, I have to get off this hamster wheel, or my spirit’s gonna die,’” he shared. After performing the song live for the first time recently, Moore was thrilled with the audience’s enthusiastic reaction, expressing excitement about how others will connect with it.
This release marks a new chapter for Moore, who recently departed from his long-time label, MCA Nashville, and has partnered with Virgin Music Group to further his career. In an interview with Billboard, he emphasized the label’s global vision and growth potential, particularly following successful tours in international markets.
Moore is currently on his Nomad World Tour, which will resume this month with a series of 14 shows across Australia. He will then return to South Africa, where he captivated audiences of over 40,000 last year, before wrapping up the tour with a series of performances in the U.S. this fall.
